Acting on a tip off, the Ratibad police station nabbed six people who were gambling in a farm house. The police received information that the gamblers were betting with whooping cash at the farmhouse owned by Ravi Patel. Sarpanch Chittar Singh was also caught red handed in the raid conducted.
On Thursday, the cops received information of suspicious activities in the area. The police said that the gamblers were gathered in a single room . The people nabbed were identified as Bheru Singh who is a famer, Gabbar Singh who is a property dealer, Vijay Parashar owns a stone crusher, Sunil and Kannoj. The accused claimed that this was the first time that they had come to the farm house for gambling.
Ratibad police arrested the six individuals for gambling and recovered INR 37,ooo from them at the farm house. Police said that previous records of the nabbed, incase of any, would be looked into. Most of the gamblers nabbed are well to do and claimed that they were playing for fun. The police have registered a case under Gambling Act and started further investigation.
Meanwhile, in another case, the Jehangirabad police have arrested 7 gamblers and recovered INR 2K from the accused who were gambling near Baba hotel on Wednesday. The people nabbed were identified as Zeeshan, Shakahwat, Nabeel, Afzal, Javed and Naved. While these are just a few cases that have come to light, many such incidents have been occurring since the past few days. This case involves people that engaged in gambling only for leisure, multiple other cases are mainly to make easy money.
