Cheating Wednesdays – What Are Marked Cards All About?

Hello cheaters! Just like the past two weeks, this Wednesday is also going to be about cheating props. This time the prop is not cheating glasses, dices, or lenses, it is your deck of cards itself. Let’s talk about marked cards.

What are marked cards?

All the marked cards are the same as the original one from the deck of cards used to play. But the marked cards that we’re talking about are processed by professional technicians according to our convenience.

Cheaters generally tend to use three techniques to mark cards:

  1.  Block out marks
Using the same ink as the cards to colour tiny portions of the back of the card. Block out technique will work wonders if the player has a keen eye and remains observant.
  2. Cut out marks
Using a knife or tool to slightly scratch the back of the card. By doing so, you will clearly be able to feel the scratched part and understand your set of marked cards.
  3.  Printed marks
This is the most basic technique. You can manually draw mini pictorial representations just to identify your set of cards. This is not the most recommended technique though.

Has this ever happened in the past?

Yes. A person called Bruce Koloshi tried to cheat at Sun casino in Mohegan in the year 2014. He marked the cards using ink that he believed only he could see with his lenses. When Bruce was caught, it turned out that he was trying to earn this money to get a bail in Louisiana where he was facing felony charges for the same.

DO WE RECOMMEND CHEATING?

We don’t. Even if you wish to use marked cards, we do not stand by any player that wishes to cheat. This is just Gutshot’s way of trying to make you aware of what all happens in the industry. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com to read more about cheating props and their types.
