KPMG, the global consulting firm who is counted as one of the Big Four audit firms also released a report at the GamePlan 2.0, titled ‘The Evolving Landscape of Sports Gaming in India. The report was jointly released with IFSG and focussed on fantasy sports and eSports.

Girish Menon spoke at the launch of this report and said, “Online gaming in India is seeing increased traction due to the growth of digital infrastructure, with fantasy sports emerging as an important segment in this space. With the number of fantasy sports operators growing rapidly and the number of users on fantasy sports platforms expected to cross 100 million by 2020, this segment has the potential to spawn a whole ecosystem around it and could help deepen user engagement with their favourite sports.

The report further mentioned that 74% of users play fantasy sports 1-3 times a week, with the majority playing once a week and 20% reported playing more than 5 times a week. Coming to the overall revenues, the online gaming industry (real and dummy money) generated over INR 4,400 Crores for FY 2018. The report also states that the industry is expected to grow at a rate of 22% per year. It forecasted that the revenues would reach around INR 11,900 Crores by the end of FY 2023.
