Sugal & Damani launches Khel Group

Sugal & Damani Group, one of the movers and shakers of the lottery and gambling industry in India, has just announced the launch of Khel Group. The newly launched Khel Group will be the parent company of two of Sugal & Damani’s very own online gaming portals, KhelPlayRummy.com and the newly launched fantasy sports platform KhelChamps.

Along with these, PokerStars.in, the Indian presence of global poker giant PokerStars, which is in turn owned by The Stars Group (TSG), will also be operating under Khel Group. Sugal & Damani had partnered with PokerStars back in March 2018. It had earlier owned KhelPlay Poker but had shut its operations last year to make way for PokerStars India. This makes Khel Group the only Indian company to have all rummy, fantasy sports and poker under one single corporate entity, offering a seamless and efficient experience.

KhelChamps, the new fantasy sports entrant, is looking to make its presence felt in the industry. Kuntal Sampat, Product Head of Khel Group said, “KhelChamps is looking at transforming every sports lover into winners. With high winning ratio per match we are looking forward to reaching everyone.”

The Indian gaming industry is currently estimated to be worth approximately $600 million, of which, the online gaming industry produces more than half of the revenue ($370 million), as reported in a study done by one of the Big Four Audit firms – KPMG – and Google. This makes it quite evident that online gaming is the future and has a wider scope in time to come.

Commenting on the development, Naveen Goyal, CEO of Khel Group said, “Since the launch, our company has been focused on providing the best customer experience by offering a seamless interface through innovative technologies.
