2019 PPWC full schedule announced
With the announcement of 2019 PPPoker World Championship (PPWC), the PPPoker platform has stepped up its game in the live scenario, following various tournament series being hosted in countires like Brazil, Japan, Philippines, India, Taiwan, Australia and Germany. The series has a prize pool of PHP 30 million (~INR 3.98 Crores), not bad for a company’s inaugural tournament series in Southeast Asian (SEA) region.
The series will run for the duration of a week between Feb 15-21, 2019 at the renowned Resorts World Manila. The series will have 15 action-packed events lined up to suit different pocket sizes and player tastes along with the Main Event which will be the PHP 20 million (~INR 2.65 Crores) GTD NLHE.
The new events announced are:
- Event #2 – Mixed Game – PHP 8,800 buy-in
- Event #4 – PLO – PHP 11,000 buy-in
- Event #5 – Deep Stack Turbo – PHP 8,800 buy-in
- Event #6 – Monster Stack NLH – PHP 16,500 buy-in
- Event #7 – High Roller – PHP 110,000 buy-in
- Event #8 – Bounty Event – PHP 22,000 buy-in
- Event #9 – Six-Max NLH – PHP 11,000 buy-in
- Event #10 – Shot Clock Bounty – PHP 6,000 buy-in
- Event #11 – PPPoker Championship NLH Freezeout – PHP 16,500 buy-in
Another unique feature of the series is the Teams Event, where 9-player teams of different nationalities will compete against each other to bring pride and honour for their home country. The buy-in of the Teams Event is set at PHP 550,000 (~INR 7.3 Lakhs).
The released schedule has the Teams Event wrapped up in the first three days, from 15th to 17th Feb. The top 8 teams finishing Day 1 will advance to Day 2 and the top two 2 teams from Day 2 shall compete against each other on the Final Day. The teams will have to play three different kinds of events, 6-Max SnG, Double Heads up and Heads-up, and will be ranked by the total points the team members earn.
The Main Event has 3 starting flights and will begin on 16th Feb 2019 and will have a buy-in of PHP 5,500. A lot of Indians are expected in the field. Since Manila being a poker hotspot, it attracts plenty of SEA poker players. The Main Event will wrap up on the final day of PPWC, the 21st Feb.
