31 players progress from DPT Main Event Day 1A

The Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) is on in full swing on board the luxurious Deltin Royale in Goa and after two days of play thus far, we've seen one champion emerge in Nikita Luther (15k Deep Dive), and two other tournaments underway in the INR 65k HighRoller and the INR 35k DPT Main Event.

The Main Event began last night at 7pm with the first of three starting flights. With a buy-in of INR 35,000, a starting stack of 30,000 chips and 35-minute levels, quite a few known names from the industry registered to the deep stack structured Main Event. From the 91 entries that were registered in the competition, only 31 bagged their chips to return on Day 2, which will be played on 10th February.

Most of the attention was on the Deep Dive Final Table last night, while some of the attention was also on Day 1 of the HighRoller, which meant 1A of the Main Event passed by quietly, and by the end of the night, M Khan emerged as the chip leader, with a stack of 202k chips, followed closely by Dhirajkumar Totala at 199k chips.

Play was halted by Level 13 of the tournament, when the blinds had reached 1000/2000, along with a Big Blind Ante of 2000. Many known names progressed including Abhishek Goindi (124k), Mihir Thakkar (98k), Maria Kirloskar (92k), Shravan Chhabria (87.5k), Ram Kakkar (87k), Manoj Pentakota (51.5k), Vivek Rughani (37k) and Sahil Mahboobani (34k).
