Abhinav Iyer among top stacks after Marathon Day 2
Abhinav Iyer is easily among the top poker players in India, considering live as well as online poker skills. Now however, his live skills are being put to the test as he's among one of the few Indian players who have set out to play the entire 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.
After already having made a couple of cashes so far in WSOP 2019, Iyer has now progressed with a relatively big stack in another tournament. Event #26: $2,620 NLHE Marathon is the one everyone's talking about now and after several Indians joined the initial field but only Iyer progressed to Day 3 among the Indian players.
467 runners took to the felts in the Miranda Room at the Rio All-Suites Hotel on Day 2 and from them, the field narrowed down to 188 survivors. Sriharsha Doddapaneni, Raghav Bansal, Nishant Sharma, Aditya Sushant, and Paawan Bansal were the Indians who busted during the day while Iyer progressed with a stack of 270,400 which is among the top 30 stacks in the field.
USA's David Coleman took the overnight chip lead with 651k in chips and there aren't too many past bracelet winners in the field. 163 of these players will receive pay-outs and by the looks of it, Iyer is all set to earn his third cash of WSOP 2019 and fifth in Las Vegas this year.
