India's hopes for a WSOP bracelet this year were kept alive by none other than PokerStars Team Pro Aditya Agarwal, who was swiftly progressing through Event #48: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Monster Stack over the days, being among the top chip counts going into Day 3, and then surviving to get through to Day 4 as well.

Agarwal indeed maintained a 'monster stack' of chips for the longest time during this tournament. After showcasing some brilliant skill on the tables, he was eliminated in 27th place, coming out to play among the final 29 survivors on Day 4 of the tournament. He took home $35,819 for 27th place.

Agarwal has been one of India's top pros since years now and he is almost always India's best contender when it comes to winning a bracelet at the World Series of Poker. This year too, he has had 6 cashes over the last one month, of which this was his highest cash thus far. He now has over $52k in combined winnings in WSOP 2018, only behind India's Paawan Bansal, who has around $57k.

Agarwal took out some top pros on his way to making Day 4 of this tournament, where an original field of 6,260 entries were recorded and a prize of $1,037,451 was allocated to the eventual champion. Just one bracelet winner was among the final 29 in Steve Billikrakis, and he busted in 11th place as well. The final four players are battling it out at the moment.

It was a great run by Agarwal to reach so deep in the tournament and all eyes will be on him as and when he decides to register into other tournaments in the 2018 WSOP, especially the $10,000 Main Event. This cash prize he received in the Monster Stack event then became the highest for an Indian this year, beating Bansal's $35,087 for finishing 13th in the Colossus Event.

Agarwal has now taken his career live poker winnings past the $1 million mark and he will be looking for a few bigger wins in the weeks to come. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for all updates on our Indian players at the 2018 World Series.
