The Poker Masters is an extremely prestigious high-stakes poker series which is currently in its second edition, hosted jointly by Poker Central and the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. So far, six events have concluded and after not being noticed in the first few, it’s Ali Imsirovic who is in the spotlight currently.

It’s a big achievement to win a Poker Masters title but Imsirovic went one step further and recorded not one, but two tournament victories, winning Event #5: $25k NLHE a couple of days back and then following it up with another victory in Event #6: $50k NLHE. The American now has over $2.4 million in live poker cashes.

He bagged $462k after winning the fifth event and then followed it up with a career-best victory of $799k, when he beat Germany’s Koray Aldemir in heads-up in the sixth event; Aldemir took home $517k for second place. Imsirovic’s two wins have put him on top of the standings in the race for the Purple Jacket, with 660 points over Brandon Adams’ 510.

“I was thinking about last night. I was just happy to be at another final table. I knew I could take over the lead with another good showing. But with the Main Event coming up, I think I’ll save the partying for later,” said Imsirovic after winning two consecutive titles in Vegas.

It was a great achievement personally for the player, bagging his highest live cash. However, it would’ve been a great achievement for anyone, beating many pros like Aldemir, Jake Schindler and Justin Bonomo on the final table. Final table results:

  1. Ali Imsirovic - $799,000
  2. Koray Aldemir - $517,000
  3. Seth Davies - $352,500
  4. Jake Schindler - $235,000
  5. Sam Soverel - $188,000
  6. Justin Bonomo - $141,000
