Anirban Das tops SSS Leaderboard
The last week has been an action-packed one on The Spartan Poker, with 37 tournaments being played over the course of 7 days as part of the cash-rich Spartan Super Series (SSS), which had an advertised series guarantee of INR 3.7 crore. Yesterday was the final day of the series and some of the highlights of the day were 'Mishtabond' winning the Sunday SuperStack and the prestigious Main Event being shipped by Dhawal Lachhwani.
Along with tournament winnings, players had the added incentive of being consistent throughout the week, as INR 10 lakh was being given away on the SSS Leaderboard, to be divided among the top 10 finishers. Players were busy making deep runs in as many tournaments as possible, trying to gain points to the SSS Leaderboard.
With the series now over, the SSS Leaderboard is now final and the player who came out on top was none other than Anirban Das aka 'pokernoob', who will take away the top prize of INR 4 lakh. Das has won a few Destiny tournaments in the past while also winning a Vegas poker package on Spartan but he failed to win a title in this edition of the SSS. However, he made several final tables and that's how he managed to come out on top of the leaderboard.
The player who was on top of the leaderboard right from Day 1 was 'omgrachelgreen', who won a couple of titles in the series. However, Das made the late jump to the top, thus winning the leaderboard, while omgrachelgreen finished second and took home a prize of INR 2 lakh.
Gutshot caught up with Anirban Das after we got news of him winning the leaderboard. He told us about the experience, saying, "It was a really fun grind and I learnt a ton from watching omgrachelgreen play. I also picked up a few valuable adjustments to make to my own game. Sorry to everyone who got luckboxed on and congratulations to all the winners. Lastly, it feels good to win a leaderboard again on Spartan."
