APT Korea Championships to kick off next week
The Asian Poker Tour (APT) continues to light up the Asian poker calendar, with regular stops at exciting locations across the continent. Fresh off a successful stop in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, the APT is all set to kick off another poker series, this time in Incheon, South Korea.
The tournament series is scheduled between 8 and 19 August 2018, and will take place at Paradise City in Incheon, located within the international business complex of the Incheon International Airport. The series, however, will overlap with the APPT Manila series which is taking place between 4-12 August.
Now, a lot of Indian players will be heading to the APPT Manila series, as Manila has always been a preferred location for Indian poker pros. However, we may see them heading to Korea as well, when done in Manila. The guarantees are high, and none would want to miss out.
Additionally, the company had tied up with India's Baadshah Gaming just last month, wherein they have been giving away APT packages through online and live satellites held by Baadshah in India. We're expecting a higher Indian participation than ever seen before in this region.
This will mark APT's second visit to this location, which is slowly becoming a popular one due to its proximity to the airport. A total of 19 tournaments have been scheduled during these 12 days and the two highlight tournaments are the APT Main Event and the APT Championships Event.
Both tournaments run back to back, with very similar structures. They both have 5 days set aside for each tournament, with two starting flights each. The Main Event will have a buy-in of KRW 1,100,000 (~INR 66,878) while the Championships Event will have a buy-in of KRW 1,650,000 (~INR 1 lakh). Check the full schedule here.
Another exciting part of this series is APT's partnership with crypto platform CoinPoker, which was signed in April this year. The cryptocurrency online poker room is currently running a promotion called 'Launch to Incheon', where 3 APT Main Event packages are up for grabs.
