APT Taiwan: Ho Bao Qiang leads Day 3 of Main Event

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taiwan Main Event has been immensely successful after 4 grueling days packed with intense action. The battle took place at the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CPT Club) forming the final 8.

The entire Main Event drew 285 entries each one paying TWD 33,000 buy-in to create a prize pool worth TWD 8.29 million. Only 37 players returned to action on Day 3 with 8 survivors claiming their seats in the final table. Yesterday was crushed by Singapore’s Ho Bao Qiang who took control of the competition and amassed 2,231,000 chips.

Qiang played several APTs so far but only once he finished 19th at the APT Manila Main Event. With total live earnings of $120,520, earning his career-best live cash of $19,900 in 2018 WSOP Las Vegas Main Event Championship. He is followed by Day 2 chip leader, Jinho Hong in the second position after bagging 1,182,000 chips.

The Main Event saw the top 20 places receiving a minimum amount of TWD 56,700. Some of these notable players include the native 2019 Taiwan Millions Tournament Bounty Builder winner Po Cheng Yang (TWD 203,100), and his countrymate Chi-han Hsieh (TWD 169,200), the 2018 Asia Championship of Poker Superstack, Macau winner Kevin Choi Yun Lam (TWD 141,000), 2018 APT Vietnam Main Event champion Tetsuya Tsuchikawa (TWD 141,000) and so on.

  2. Jinho Hong – 1,182,000
  3. Wei En Shih – 1,165,000
  4. Zong Chi He – 1,127,000
  5. Chia Yun Wu – 638,000
  6. Shao Hung Lee – 345,000
  7. Wilson Lim – 224,000
  8. Roman Shcherbakov - 215,000
