APT Taiwan: Jinho Hong leads Day 2 of Main Event
The action intensified in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taiwan Main Event as another grueling day began at Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association (CPT Club). The featured tournament attracted a total number of 255 entries over the three starting days with each player paying TWD 33,00 buy-in.
The guaranteed amount easily surpassed the advertised TWD 6 million. Day 1C of the Main Event attracted 123 entries and as the event progressed with only a small chunk of 65 survivors. Claiming the day was the native player Chien Fa Chou (pictured below) bagging 128,000 followed by Hwang Sang Yeon with 116,500 moving to Day 2.

Registration was open for another hour, adding 30 more to bring the total to 285 entries on Day 2 of the Main Event. The prize pool settled for an ambitious amount of TWD 8.29 million. The field broke down to a small number of 37 players leading to Day 3. The tournament saw the rise of Korea’s Jinho Hong (pictured below) bagging 577,500 chips.
The recent 2019 APT Philippines Monster Stack winner Hong sits at 33rd place in Korea’s All-Time money list. He is a familiar face in the APT circuit, with total live earnings of $119,174 and earning his career best-live cash of $43k for finishing 2nd in the 2019 J88Poker Tour Taiwan Main Event, Taipei City.
Besides the chip leaders, other notable players decorating the event include Guo Dong bagging 300,000 chips, APT Taiwan defending champion Chow Cliff with 284,500 chips, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa with 212,000 chips, Graeme Siow with 161,000 chips and so on.
