APT Vietnam Championships Event: Vincent Chauve leads Day 2

The host venue Pro Poker Club is intensified with massive action! The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam is currently underway and another crushing day was observed in the Championships Event VND 6 Billion GTD. The starting two flights saw a total number of 148 players fighting neck-to-neck aiming to lift the golden trophy.

Yesterday with the registration being open until the final hour, another set of 31 players entered the tournament, boosting the field to a total of 179 entries yet only a handful of 26 managed to survive. The event saw a prize pool of VND 6,077,070,000 which will be shared among the top 18 places. But the ultimate aim is to grab the champion’s share of VND 1.57 million. Day 2 of the second featured tournament came to an end with the recent Main Event runner-up Vincent Chauve amassing the largest stack of 759,000 chips. The USA’s pro is closely followed by Japan’s Go Mori with 724,000 chips.

Chauve who entered the day resting at 14th position shipped a huge pot on a double-up through Sahil Chutani in the last level of play. While the journey for the sizeable group of Indians was tough, the last Indian to enter the was the APT Main Event champion Akshay Nasa who accumulated a stack of 200k, only to drop out quickly. Undoubtedly, yesterday was exciting with Dhaval Mudgal entering as the chip leader, eventually ended in 7th place with 432,000 chips. Combining the starting two flights, Indian pro Laksh Pal Singh in 72nd position geared up to reach the 6th place after bagging 559,000 chips.

  10. Fu Bang Huang - 345,000
