Ashish Ahuja wins again - SSS Triple Bubble this time
Currently, another edition of the cash-rich Spartan Super Series (SSS) is taking place on Spartan Poker, where a total series guarantee of INR 3.5+ Crore is waiting to be won. Yesterday was Day 5 of the ongoing series and by the end of the day, plenty of winners were crowned including Ashish Ahuja aka 'Spewushhhiiiii'.
Now for those of you who are actively following the Indian poker circuit, you would know that Ahuja is no newbie to poker, with several cashes in both live as well as online poker. The last 5-6 months in particular have seen him take down a large number of online titles on Spartan as well as other major platforms.
Ahuja registered to SSS #31 Triple Bubble INR 12 Lakh GTD last night, being one of the total of 385 entries, each of which paid the buy-in of INR 3,300. This unique tournament saw a number of regulars participating last night, and some of them who cashed included Rajat Mahajan (9th), Neel Joshi (7th) and Chandan Arora (5th).
A total of 31 entries were paid but Ahuja didn't want any of the prizes apart from the one kept aside for the tournament winner. The grind went on for over 5 hours, starting at 7:30pm and ending at 12:58am this morning after Ahuja beat Faiz Alam aka 'DrStrange' in heads-up.
Alam already has one major victory in recent times, shipping the March edition of 5For5 on Spartan for INR 5,00,000. Here however, he couldn’t get past Ahuja on the night, as the top five players all agreed on cutting deal, at which point Ahuja was way ahead in terms of chips.
Ahuja was declared the winner when the 5-way deal was agreed upon, taking away INR 2,53,800 in prize money, while Alam took away a healthy prize of INR 1,70,880 for finishing second, while the other three took home smaller prizes in this SSS tournament on Spartan.
Ahuja has been on a good streak and he wouldn't want to stop with just one victory. We're almost certain you will be able to hear his name again in the next week or two, but until then, you can keep following GutshotMagazine.com.
