Ashish Ahuja ships Big Daddy tournament on Spartan
Everyone loves the Big Daddy tournament offering of The Spartan Poker, where players have the chance to fly to Goa with an investment of just INR 550. This tournament is played every Sunday at 4pm IST and the winner receives a package trip to Goa worth INR 30,000, in addition to his/her tournament winnings.
Yesterday was another Big Daddy tournament on Spartan and 657 entries registered to the INR 5 lakh GTD event, with the top 55 players being paid out a minimum cash prize of INR 2,450. The tournament lasted 5 hours and 14 minutes before a winner was crowned in Ashish Ahuja aka 'Spewushhhiiiii'.
The player outlasted the big field to take home the top prize of INR 97,000. In addition to this, he will be awarded a package trip to Goa, where he will get a chance to play poker at the Big Daddy casino and multiply his winnings. He beat 'Arjun1' in heads-up, who was awarded INR 61,500 for second place.
In was Level #41 of the tournament when the final hand took place, with the blinds running 25,000/50,000 - 5,000 and Ahuja holding close to a 6:1 chip advantage. Arjun1 went all-in pre-flop with pocket tens and Ahuja decided to make the call with Kh 7d.
The flop opened 3c 7h 9d and Arjun1 continued to be ahead with a pair of tens as compared to his opponent's pair of sevens. Qs on the turn kept Arjun1 ahead but luck turned in favour of Ahuja with Kc opening on the river and he took down the title with two pairs - Kings and Sevens.
