Be a part of the Mumbai Jetsetters GPL Team
There's a rapid rise in the popularity of poker in India, and all the new tournaments and leagues coming up is a proof of that statement. It was also a brilliant year for Indians at the World Series of Poker, with a gold bracelet being won and the best-ever Main Event finish by an Indian also recorded.
The likes of Poker Sports League and Match IPL have shown a lot of progress in their two seasons each so far, while another big tournament is coming up now. The Global Player League (GPL) India partnered with Kwan Entertainment and then later with PokerStars India to bring GPL to India.
Starting on 25th June, online qualifiers began on PokerStars, to pick finalists for each of the 6 teams that will participate in GPL India Season 1. Earlier this month, Kolkata Creators announced their 10 finalists and now it's time for the Mumbai Jetsetters to find their players online.
The online freeroll qualifiers began last night, 23rd July, on PokerStars, and they will continue until 29th July. The winners of these qualifiers will be selected to be a part of the final bootcamp that will take place in Delhi on 8th September. With most of the teams already having their teams ready, only Mumbai and Bengaluru Hackers remain.
10 players will go on to participate in the GPL India Bootcamp and after the qualifiers for Mumbai Jetsetters end on 29th July, the qualifiers for Bengaluru Hackers begin the next day. All six teams' rosters will be ready soon and they will travel to Delhi for a chance to become a finalist and win one of the 5 Platinum Passes on offer (worth ~INR 20 lakh each).
So, if you want to be part of what could be the biggest poker league ever hosted in India, take part in the online qualifiers right away. Also, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for more updates on the inaugural GPL India.
