Brian Hastings Ships $3,000 H.O.R.S.E Event

It was a good day at the office for Brian Hastings, a mixed games poker pro from New York. A total of 354 entries showed up for Event #76: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Hastings outlasted this field and shipped the tournament, winning his first gold bracelet of the year and 4th bracelet overall.

This became the third-last bracelet to be given out at this year's World Series of Poker, which is the most prestigious annual poker tournament series in the world. After six prior cashes this year, Hastings would've been glad to get on the board with a big score, taking home $233,202 for first place, in a tournament where the prize pool was slightly under a million dollars.

Hastings beat Andrew Brown in heads-up, who took home a decent amount of $144,128 for second place. Hastings made a good comeback to ship the tournament as he was the shortest stack at one point of time during 4-handed play. He took his career live poker winnings past $3.3 million with this win.

"It feels amazing, this was my last event of the summer and I had a couple of runs before this, but to end it this way just feels great," he said after winning the 4th gold bracelet of his career. Another big name who was in contention of a bracelet was John Hennigan, who secured his 13th cash of the season, finishing 11th. Remember, Hennigan was recently inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame.

Final table results:

  1. Brian Hastings - $233,202
  2. Andrew Brown - $144,128
  3. Tim Marsters - $97,340
  4. Jeff Madsen - $67,121
  5. Lee Markholt - $47,275
  6. Hye Park - $34,027
  7. Dutch Boyd - $25,040
  8. Bruno Fitoussi - $18,849

There wasn't much Indian participation as this format of poker is not so popular in India. In fact, only the Big One for One Drop tournament is remaining, which means that the Indian participation in WSOP 2018 has ended. However, it has been a good series for India with Nikita Luther winning a bracelet and Nishant Sharma and Vivek Rughani making deep finishes in the Main Event.
