David Pham Wins WSOP Circuit Los Angeles Main Event

It's two in two for David 'The Dragon' Pham now!

Around a week ago, US poker player David Pham was in the news for beating 984 runners and winning the 2018 Wynn Spring Classic Championship, for $240,254. Now, he's raked up another 6-figure win, by shipping the WSOP Circuit Los Angeles Main Event for $216,790.

With his last win, he crossed the $10 million career live earnings milestone and there was no stopping him in Los Angeles either, earning his first WSOP Circuit ring, to go with his 3 WSOP bracelets. The $1,675 buy-in Main Event at the Bicycle Hotel and Casino saw a total field of 705 entries, creating a prizepool of $1,057,500.

There was a slight increase in the turn-out of this event, beating the 687 entries recorded in the last WSOPC stop here. The event was majorly dominated by USA players, with just one non-American in the top 25 (Canada's Owen Crowe). The final day began with 11 survivors left, battling it out for the title.

However, the other 10 didn't stand much of a chance with David Pham on such a hot streak. Tom Braband entered heads up with Pham, with the latter holding a slight chip advantage. However, 'The Dragon' quickly gained a 2:1 chip lead going in to what would be the last hand of the tournament. Both players went all-in and Pham's pocket tens triumphed over Braband's pocket threes.

"I’m feeling great, and I played very comfortable. Even now, up in my mind, I know I’m going to be right there. I’m feeling great for so long. I don’t rush my mind to win, and I know that there are a lot of good, young players. Now, there are so many tough, young players and I feel like I’m up there with them,” said Pham to WSOP after this win. He has been around the live poker circuit for over 25 years but is proving that he is still among some of the best players!

Final results:

  1. David Pham - $216,790
