IOPC Event #41 MIB (Make It Big) - INR 75 Lakh GTD
At a buy-in of INR 7,700, Spartan Poker let players be a part of a massive prize pool and only the best in the business can afford such buy-ins. Marked as one of the biggest tournaments of the series, MIB saw some stiff competition from poker pros from across India and when the final buzzer rang, Devang Yadav aka 'equity_hunter' was the last man standing, bagging the first-place prize of INR 14,31,000 for this massive effort. Yadav isn't new to big victories online and he made a very valuable addition to his poker bankroll last night after he outlasted 'mothertruckazBack' in heads-up, the latter winning INR 8,83,500. When Gutshot caught up with Devang, he said, "It was a very light Sunday grind. Just 4 tables. And to ship the biggest of them all was wicked cool. I ran really good throughout. Ran up to 100k from 19k in like 5 hands. From there on it was a grind. We dipped below average too at a time near bubble but ran it back as soon as we reached ITM. It was a good heads-up battle to cap it off. I'm really grateful for this win. Cheers." The tournament saw 1,002 entries and from them, the top 95 finished ITM, each receiving a min-cash of INR 22,125.
IOPC Event #42 Sunday SuperStack INR 30 Lakh GTD
Another Sunday, another SuperStack tournament and another big name wins this big tournament. If you're an avid poker follower in India, you would know about Abhinav Iyer and how he has been having a brilliant run in online and live poker, recently creating history by winning India's first WSOP gold bracelet in a single-participation event in Las Vegas. Here also, he ran deep, playing as 'Schumi91' on Spartan but couldn't get across the line, finishing second for INR 4,91,834.
