First look inside Goa’s lavish new Big Daddy Casino
Goa’s Mandovi river saw a new ship entering its waters recently. The new Big Daddy Casino anchored itself in the river last month and made headlines in the Indian poker community. The poker room in the newly established casino is operated by the same team behind the India Poker Championship (IPC) and Spartan Poker. The team comprising of industry veterans Amin Rozani, Peter Abraham, Sameer Rattonsey and Rajeev Kanjani, were previously looking after Big Daddy's poker operations on the Maharaja Casino. The new ship is significantly more spacious and is looking to provide a top notch luxurious gaming experience to its visitors. It is believed to be the biggest ship on the waters of the Mandovi River.
Rozani, at the time of the launch, had said, “The Big Daddy seems like the ideal platform for us to host poker operations on a larger scale, with fantastic facilities on this new ship. We hope to bring back our flagship IPC live event to this wonderful new venue soon.” The India Poker Championship (IPC) series isn’t officially announced yet but one feels an announcement is imminent. Team IPC in the past has put on record breaking events and given that they are coming back after a fair, there is enough promise that an extravagant tournament series may be on the cards soon at the new casino.
A grand launch party is scheduled for the official opening slated on the evening of 9th May. Poker and gaming enthusiasts from across the country will descend upon Panjim to take part in the opening celebrations. Poker enthusiasts can look forward to playing in the opulent poker room which is being managed by the afore-mentioned Team IPC. The opening will also coincide with a Cash Game festival set to take place from 9-12 May where a variety of games and stakes will be available for players. Poker players can expect to have a fantastic experience as has been the case in past festivals hosted by the organisers.
Seeing is Believing
Big Daddy Casino has even released a video which gives a glimpse of the shiny interiors. The video features the ship’s sparkling amenities, its poker room, entertainment facilities, high limit areas, recreation rooms and of course its gaming floor. The ship in this video looks straight out of a movie flick, complete with beautiful girls showcasing the various features in and around the new ship.
It is not an exaggeration when we say that the Big Daddy casino has a similar feel to it to the casinos featured in various James Bond movies in the past. The visitor will be awestruck by the glitz and glamour of it all. Popular games like poker, blackjack, roulette and other casino offerings will be studded up and down the length and breadth of the ship. There is also a game room built in the ship, especially for kids. Families accompanying the players can enjoy a host of exciting video games in the room. The game room is also filled with soft toys, children’s books, etc. for their entertainment..
With their little ones taken care of, the adults can relax at the bar inside the casino and order a refreshing cocktail or two. The Arabic-themed Haroon bar, will allow patrons to enjoy some flavorful sheesha as well to go with their drinks. After a hard and tiring day at the felts, players can relax in the Lounge on the many comfy seats and even get a head or shoulder massage to work out the knots and kinks of their time at the tables. The dining and bar areas in the ship will have live musicians, dancers, DJs and other artists showcasing their talents for the spectators every night. All in all, visitors are sure to have a fun and glamourous experience onboard the new Big Daddy Casino.
