Haider Madraswala beats Charles Donnadieu to Mega Stack title
Every Tuesday, Spartan Poker hosts an online poker tournament called Mega Stack INR 15 Lakh GTD and it has grown to become a very popular tournament in recent months. Yesterday's Mega Stack kicked off at its usual time of 8pm and wrapped up by 3:54am this morning after a deal in heads-up.
At the time of the deal, Haider Madraswala aka 'Nutbuster' had a greater chip stack which made him the official winner, pocketing the biggest prize money. As for the runner-up, we had Charles Donnadieu aka 'Jhonnymaddog' who wasn't too far behind in chips when they agreed on the deal; he took a similar prize but official was the runner-up.
With a buy-in of INR 3,300, we saw a field of 557 entries registering which including 97 re-entries and 188 re-buys. Even though Mega Stack received a guarantee boost a few weeks back, the guarantee was still passed, with a new prize pool of INR 16.71 Lakh being generated, which was eventually distributed among the top 55 finishers, each getting a minimum of INR 8,187.
Featured tournaments on Spartan Poker always attract healthy competition from across the country and once again, there were quite a few known names in contention. On the final table was also known pro Sumit Sapra, who finished 4th for INR 1.2 Lakh. Nishaanth Shanmughasundaram finished in 6th place for INR 73,189.
However, these pros were no match for Madraswala and Donnadieu last night. The latter was in the news a few months back for also winning Monday Nitro on Spartan, a tournament which now no longer exists. As for Madraswala, we haven't heard of too many of his victories online, but he has been playing since a while, online as well as live.
