Hwang Sang Yeon leads Day 2 of APT Taiwan Finale ME
Among the major festivals of Asia, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) hit the ground of Taiwan on 28 November and ever since then the Chinese Texas Holdem Poker Association (CPT Club) is rejoicing with 12 power-packed days of the APT Finale Taiwan series before the year ends.
Merging the three starting flights, a total number of 142 hopefuls resumed on Day 2 of APT Taiwan Finale Main Event. Yesterday opened one hour of late registration which lured another 24 players paying the TWD 31,000 buy-in each, generating a prize pool of TWD 9.28 million.
While the cards kept shuffling, individuals kept getting railed out throughout the day and eventually, the field came down to 34 survivors. The paycheck will be shared among the top 32 players and 2 competitors will be exiting the tournament empty-handed. The player amassing the largest stack on Day 2 was Hong Kong’s Hwang Sang Yeon bagging an impressive 566,000 chips.
Yeon was last seen in APT Vietnam, finishing at 2nd place in an NLH tournament. Prior to that, the chip leader championed APT Taiwan High Rollers earning a striking $34,983. But this could be the first career win for China’s Zhou Yueyang, finishing right after Yeon with a slightly lesser stack of 563,000 chips.
Other notable players still in the run include Day 1B chip leader Thomas Lind with 292,500 chips, the 2019 APPT Korea Super High Roller winner Michael Soyza bagging 259,000 chips, the 2019 APT Vietnam High Roller champion En Chung Wu with 126,500 chips and so on.

Day 3 of the Main Event is scheduled to commence today, 3 December at 3 pm local time. 34 players will be returning to the table, each one aiming to grab the top prize of TWD 21,38,200 along with the trophy, and APT ring.
