IOPC Day 9: Deepak Bothra wins PLO Super HighRoller

The second last day of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) saw Deepak ‘chimpoo’ Bothra emerging as Pot-Limit Omaha Super HighRoller winner. Bothra who was rewarded with a prize of INR 9,90,000 outlasting 54 entries in total. Only one day left to claim the beautiful Jeep Compass from TheSpartanPoker, IOPX Day 10 will have the biggest guarantee tournament of INR 1.5 CR Main Event at 4:30 pm with a buy-in of INR 11,000.

Let’s take a quick look on last night’s tournaments:

IOPC #44 INR 550 (200K GTD) (RE)

The No-Limit Holdem tournament drew 435 entries to make a prizepool of INR 217,500 which was distributed to top 40 places with a min-cash of INR 1,305. It was Rubin ‘kornkid’ Labroo to take down the title for INR 57,638 defeating ‘cvc’ in the heads-up battle. ‘cvc’ collected INR 35,888 for the second-place finish.

IOPC #45 INR 770 (400K GTD) (R+A)

The second event of the day saw 677 entries generating a prizepool of INR 473,900. Top 25 places took a share of the prize pool with a min-cash of INR 2,843. Coming on top it’s ‘ks6161’ who claimed the IOPC title of this tournament for INR 125,584. ‘ks6161’ eliminated ‘Nikhilgocrazy’ in the last round of the tournament who took home INR 77,009 for the second-place finish.


The new format DareDevil tournament has seen tremendous response from the players, where this tournament gives a player to re-buy with half buy-in i.e INR 2,200 for the same starting stack until the late registration period. Last night the tournament saw 410 entries (unique entries: 183; re-buys: 227) which made a prizepool of INR 11,86,000. The massive prize pool was distributed amongst top 25 places with a min-cash of INR 7,116.

The eventual winner was none other than Eka Vedantham who plays under the moniker ‘gettingthere’ claimed the title for INR 314,290. Vedantham eliminated ‘Strangeplay’ at a second place who collected INR 192,725.

IOPC #47 INR 55,000 PLO Super HighRoller (30L GTD) (RE)

The very first-time introduced Pot-Limit Omaha event in the IOPC schedule also making it to a Super HighRoller tournament with 30L GTD (RE). As mentioned in the intro, it was Deepak ‘chimpoo’ Bothra to take down the title outlasting 54 entries in total. Bothra collected INR 9,90,000 on the win while the second-place finisher ‘Anand’ took home INR 780,000 for the impressive finish.

IOPC #48 INR 6,600 (15L GTD) (RE)

The last event of the day saw a total participation of 341 entries to crush the prizepool and making it into INR 20,46,000. The mysterious ‘nik55’ is the winner of the last event of the day for INR 542,190. ‘nik55’ defeated ‘slowplayaces’ in the last round of the tournament. ‘slowplayaces’ collected INR 337,590 for the second-place finish.
