LBS Day 2: Vinay Choudhry among winners on Spartan
Spartan Poker, this month, is busy hosting the Little Big Series (LBS), a popular series especially for small-stakes grinders looking to improve their bankroll and gradually go up the MTT scale. This month’s LBS began on 22nd April and will be in the books on 26th. We recently profiled Mithun Mahesh, a reputed player who navigated up the stakes starting with LBS.
Yesterday, the Day 2 of the series was hosted with a total 4 events in the mix, with buy-ins ranging between INR 55 to INR 550. All the events attracted a sizeable field and there were 4 winners. Here’s a round-up of the day:
LBS #5 – INR 20K GTD
The first one began by attracting total 153 entries for INR 55 on Spartan. The entries together chipped in the buy-in and the resulting prize pool paid out the top 27 places, with the min-cash being INR 200. ‘RT OM’ won the tournament for INR 4,430, beating ‘GM0089’. RT OM, already with a good chip lead entering heads-up, slashed his opponent with Sixes and Fives over his opponent’s Sixes and Threes. The runner-up took home INR 2,990 as the second-place cash prize.
LBS #6 – INR 40K GTD
The second tournament on LBS Day 2 attracted 152 total players and the top 31 places got a pay-check. Winning this one was ‘RED999’ for INR 8,460 who topped the field. He/she defeated ‘Zak Jungio’ in heads-up with a full house over trips Aces. The runner-up earned INR 5,696 as the second-place pay-out on Spartan.
LBS #7 – INR 75K GTD
Beating a total of 116 players in the field, Vinay Choudhry aka ‘Your Truly’ shipped the 3rd event of LBS Day 2 and the 7th overall in the series. The event was played in the PLO format. Choudhry converted the INR 275 buy-in to INR 18,000 pay-day for his victory. He beat ‘Harsharya’ in heads-up who settled for INR 12,225, getting defeated in the final hand by a straight over Kings set.
Choudhry is a well-known community entity. Among his recent achievements include winning an SSS title this month and winning a January 2019 IOPC title. He was also featured in an exclusive Gutshot interview where he touched upon a few relevant topics. Read the interview here.
LBS #8 – INR 1.4 Lakhs PKO
The biggest tournament was kept for the end, building up anticipation. The tournament attracted a total of 157 players for a buy-in of INR 550. The top 27 places were paid out of the prize pool and among the ITM finishers, ‘Vickypleezzz’ grabbed the spotlight, taking home the title and the cash prize of INR 31,010. He beat ‘kidplay 05’ in heads-up who settled for INR 20,930 second-place prize money.
