In the world of gaming and gambling, eSports is becoming a very important aspect. Seeing this, most of the top gambling destinations have gone ahead and set up eSports studios and eSports stadiums. Macau then, didn't want to fall behind, with its first dedicated eSports stadium being launched yesterday.

The stadium, launched by eSports organizer Kowloon E-Stadium, will be known as Macau E-Stadium, and it was launched at the Studio City Hotel in Macau. It is set to host eSports competitions at all levels - local, regional and international. The stadium covers 10,000 sq.ft. and the second floor can seat 274 guests.

“We chose Macau E-Stadium to be set up in Studio City because our team believes it is the first priority for entertainment for many visitors coming from China and for Macau’s youth. I think Macau is the best location for all of China’s eSports players to reach out to the world,” said Founder of Kowloon E-Stadium & Macau E-Stadium, Roy Kwong.

“eSports is a trend that’s going around Asia and the world, a truly fascinating phenomenon. Melco Resorts got this idea to partner with Kowloon E-Stadium to develop an eSports stadium full time,” said Studio City Property President, Geoff Andres, after an event held in the hotel in April attracted around 3,000 guests. “We are very excited to see how this catches and develops here. We’ve got a great environment to work with,” he added.

eSports is a relatively new discipline, but it has the potential to attract large number of enthusiasts in the long term. The opening event of Macau E-Stadium saw a live audience of over 2,000 people at the Cotai casino resort. Check out the grand opening function here:
