Malaysia’s Chin Wei Lim wins EPT Prague Single Day High Roller
The PokerStars LIVE European Poker Tour (EPT) is currently underway in Prague at Hilton Prague, studded with the best-known poker players around the world. Just two days ago, the on-going tournament crowned Stephen Chidwick the Super High Roller title boosting his POY points. And it was only yesterday that Malaysia’s Chin Wei Lim took down EPT Prague Single Day High Roller for a spectacular €378,160 in prize money!
The one-day tournament persuaded 50 hopefuls taking their seats for €25,000 buy-in, attracting the High Roller regulars including Timothy Adams and Matthias Eibinger. The money reached to the top 6 places with a min-cash of €63,020.
It was noon local time when the cards shuffled in the air and 2019 EPT Monte Carlo NLH winner Rainer Kempe followed by the 2019 BPO London PLO winner George Wolff, the 2018 EPT Prague Single Day Event #21 champ Thomas Boivin, 2019 WPT Korea Single Day High Roller winner Danny Tang, the 2019 WSOP Platinum High Roller winner Kahle Burns were among few competitors to walk out early in the tournament.
After a series of double-ups and elimination the tournament reached its final hand, Lim holding Ad Jh up against his opponent Jorryt van Hoof with 9h 9c who raised up 410k from the blind while former put his entire stack in the middle. Flop Js 2s 2h proved to be in favour of Lim and with an incredible addition to Kd Kc on turn and river, didn’t bring much change for Hoof who was ultimately railed out in the runner-up position. Lim claimed the title along with the enormous first-place prize money and is now boosting his total live earning from $8 million.
