Michael Addamo wins 2nd bracelet at WSOPE

Michael Addamo won the €25,000 event 2018 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) late on Thursday evening and in doing so added another gold bracelet to his kitty. This makes Addamo one of only three players to accomplish this feat in both World Series editions taking place in the USA and Europe.

While many top pros from across the world have descended upon the Kings Casino, Rozvadov in the Czech Republic, only a handful of them have been able to distinguish themselves during the series. Michael Addamo is one of those players who now has a victory at the €25,500 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller event.

Addamo has been no slouch with over $3 million in live earnings and a big chunk of that coming from his participation in The Marathon, a $2,620 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em tournament in WSOP Las Vegas which got him a payday of $654,000 for his efforts. His bracelet run this time though was not an easy ride both in terms of effort and time. Addamo and his German headsup opponent Christian Rudolph were involved in an intense battle which only came to a head in the early hours of Friday morning. When all was said and done, Addamo walked away with the title and top prize of €848,702 (~INR 7.1 Crores).

Rudolph was probably the toughest opponents Addamo faced on his way to the title and the German gave and took no quarter he too was vying for his first WSOP bracelet. In the end, though there could only be one winner and Rudolph had to be content with his runner-up payday of €524,000 (~INR 4.38 Crores).

Third place finishers was Benjamin Pollak who won €370,000 followed by Mikita Badziakouski from Belarus who has been on quite the hot streak these past couple of months. Badziakouski earned €266,000 for his efforts. Another well known German pro Dominik Nitsche scored €196,300 for sixth place while Hong Kong's well known high stakes pro Winfred Yu got €147,000. The last two paid places at this Super Highroller final table were claimed by American James Romero (€113,000) and he was followed by another German in Manig Loeser (€89,000).
