After three days of intense poker action, we finally have a winner of Event #6: No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Mixed Event at the 2018 World Series of Poker Europe. The €1,650 buy-in tournament saw a participation of 241 entries which nearly doubled the €200k guarantee to €343,425.

37 players shared this prize pool with a minimum cash of €2,350 and India's Bharath Janardhan were one of the many who busted on Day 2, finishing 29th. Play on Day 2 then carried on till we were down to the final eight players, with Israel's Netanel Amedi in the lead.

Amedi continued his dominance on Day 3, but he was hit by Hungary's Norbert Szecsi's royal flush on the Final Table, which crippled Amedi's stack, eventually busting out in 3rd place for €36,705. Szecsi then entered heads-up against one of the favourites and 4-time WSOP bracelet winner, Shaun Deeb.

Deeb had nearly double a stack as compared to that of Szecsi's, but the latter made a good fight back, to beat Deeb and take down the title. Szecsi's first WSOP bracelet came way back in 2013 and now, after a couple of runner-up finishes, he came back for his second gold bracelet, plus €86,596 (~INR 72.65 lakh) in winnings.

Final Table results:

  1. Norbert Szecsi - €86,596 ($99,585)
  2. Shaun Deeb - €63,731
  3. Netanel Amedi - €36,705
  4. Julien Sitbon - €25,618
  5. Samuel Albeck - €18,276
  6. Jaroslav Peter - €13,334
  7. Vittorio Castro - €9,953
  8. Van Tiep Nguyen - €7,606

Szecsi's largest career cash was that of €626,357 he earned for finishing 2nd in the EPT Barcelona High Roller in August this year. Now, this victory at the Kings Casino in Rozvadov has taken his live earnings past the $2.4 million mark, and it'll be interesting to see whether he can make a deep run in the Main Event as well.
