After two days of starting flights, a few Indians made it to Day 2 of Event #34: $1,000 Double Stack NLHE, including Nikita Luther, Paawan Bansal, Nishant Sharma, Akash Malik and the Indian origin Nipun Java. While some busted out, Bansal and Java continued their impressive runs to reach Day 3.

With 5,700 entries registered to the tournament, the top 855 entries were to be paid out - Malik (664th - $1,717), Luther (525th - $2,038), Sharma (365th - $2,508). The final 162 survivors came out to play on Day 3 of the tournament and unfortunately, our Indian pros were eliminated from the tournament.

A massive prize pool of $5,130,000 was created with $644,224 being reserved for the first place. While there were not too many previous bracelet winners among the competition, it was still a tough field to play against and Java was eliminated in 87th place for $5,752, falling in search of his third gold bracelet.

Bansal had a smaller stack at the end of Day 3, but he did well to make a deeper run, eventually hitting the rail in 74th place, taking home a prize of $6,803. This became his second cash of WSOP 2018, after $35,087 for finishing 13th in the Colossus event. He has been on a hot run and is a contender to bring India a gold bracelet this year.

The event continued after the fall of our Indian heroes and as we type this, 23 survivors are still battling it out, and players will soon bag up and end play for Day 3. USA's Keith Ferrera currently holds the chip lead and just one previous bracelet winner is in the mix. You can come back to tomorrow to know who ships this tournament!
