Patrik Antonius Wins partypoker MILLIONS Germany €25k SHR
partypoker's inaugural MILLIONS Germany tournament series is currently taking place at the Kings Casino in Rozvadov between 8th and 18th February. The €25,000 Super High Roller event of this series recently concluded, and it was Finland's Patrik Antonius who shipped the event for the top prize of €425,000 ($520,430).
The tournament was Antonius' first live tournament of the year and it turned out to be a brilliant result for him, beating the field of 51 entries (including 14 re-entries) to win the top prize. Antonius, #1 on Finland's all-time poker earnings list, took his live poker earnings past the $7 million mark with this win.
Out of the 7 on the final table, 4 were Germans but none of them managed to win the title, with Renato Nowak and Stefan Schillhabel finishing at #3 and #4 respectively. Ultimately, Antonius reached heads up against Brazil poker pro and partypoker ambassador, Joao Simao.
Simao started heads up with the lead but ultimately had to settle for the second-place prize of €251,250, which happened to be his highest live cash as well. In what turned out to be the final hand of the tournament, Simao rivered a set of Kings, but Antonius bettered it, having rivered a straight.
A lot more tournaments are still to be played at the partypoker MILLIONS Germany, so Antonius will be looking to rake in some more profits in this time. He was unsure about whether he would play the next SHR event or opt to play in 'The Big Game' - a 36-hour live streamed PLO cash game!
