Phil Galfond wins third WSOP bracelet
It has been a really busy time for 33-year old US poker pro, Phil Galfond of late. He has been a regular part of high stakes cash games, has been preparing for the launch of his own online poker website called 'Run It Once Poker' and is also preparing for the birth of a new addition to his family.
However, all these things didn't stop him from coming down to the 2018 World Series of Poker and not just playing but winning a gold bracelet as well. He took part in Event #60: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Championship and he was good enough to beat a big field and secure his third WSOP bracelet.
With a live poker career in the USA of over 12 years, Galfond won his maiden WSOP bracelet way back in 2008, followed by the next one in 2015. Now, he came out on top of a field of 237 entries to take home the top prize of $567,788, taking his career live poker earnings past $2.9 million.
"There's nothing like the first one, so that stands ahead. It still feels really good, on par with the second. I just ran really hot at the right time. I ran bad all summer, so I was saving it up for now. Now, it's even," he said, speaking about his summer so far and the feeling on winning his third gold bracelet.
- Phil Galfond - $567,788
- Michael McKenna - $350,922
- Ali Abduljabbar - $240,497
- Chad Power - $168,275
- Chris Lee - $120,263
- Marco Johnson - $87,830
- David “ODB” Baker - $65,579
- Chase Steely - $50,086
Galfond said that this win was extremely unexpected, as he had no prior experience in PLO8. However, he shipped the event, and this is just one of the many success stories we've had in the 2018 WSOP so far. Keep reading GutshotMagazine.com for a daily update on this series in Las Vegas.
