Bangalore: Pocket52, India’s first cryptographically secure online poker platform, recently announced that they have launched India’s first online poker network, a domestic shared omnichannel network for online poker platforms in India. Through this initiative, Pocket52 aims to empower poker startups to grow through technology and innovation. One of the popular Indian online poker platform Calling Station has already joined Pocket52 Network.

As per the KPMG | EY M&E Report 2019, online real money gaming (rummy, fantasy sports and especially poker) has grown over 82% and is expected to grow at 40% CAGR to reach $1 billion by 2021.

The development comes within a year of the company’s inception. Nitesh Salvi, CEO & Co-founder of Pocket52 said, “We are currently the only Indian poker network to offer a shared liquidity player pool that connects players from all across the subcontinent. Moving towards the domestic market represents a huge opportunity for the Indian poker industry and highlights the numerous possibilities that co-exist.”

Mr. Salvi, a life-long poker enthusiast who also co-founded Plancess, an Edu-Tech platform in 2011, is a strong advocate of poker being a skill-based game. He added, “The launch of Pocket52 network gives us additional operational, technological, marketing and commercial leverage to develop innovative features and find exciting new network partnerships. With the game reaching out to more people, we can also project poker as a ‘game of skill’ over ‘game of chance’ more effectively.”

With the introduction of Pocket52 Network, online poker in India reaches a new pinnacle as the shared network will pool players from different poker platforms giving poker operators a new player base and delivering players with a first-class poker experience. The shared network will significantly boost marketing and revenue potential for online poker room operators.

In terms of gameplay, Pocket52 Network offers a smooth, feature-heavy experience. The poker operators in the network will have multiple options for customizing the look and feel of the tables, and advanced reporting. The network also guarantees fair play thanks to its cryptographically secure tamper-proof RNG+ algorithm internationally certified by iTech Labs, Australia.

Mr Abhigya Sagar, an avid poker player and co-founder of Pocket52, said, “The unique Pocket52 domestic network is a great boon for the players as they can access more variety of games and a bigger playing field. Tournament guarantees can get enormous along with more cash game action to keep players engaged. I am confident that the Indian poker industry will be much more powerful & interesting as we head into 2020.”
