3. Four of a Kind

As the name suggests, this poker hand sequence consists of 4 cards of the same rank (A-A-A-A-7). Here, 4 aces are rated the highest poker hand, whereas 4 deuces (twos) are considered the lowest. This best poker hand would beat any lesser ranked hands except a royal flush or a straight flush.

This includes a pair of the same rank plus 3 cards of the same rank (K-K-7-7-7). The Full House poker hand beats a flush, a straight and other lower-ranked poker hands.

A Flush is when you have 5 cards all in one suit, but not in any particular numerical order (K-Q-3-8-10 of clubs). Here, irrespective of the poker cards in hand, an ace-high flush will beat a king-high flush.

A poker hand sequence is termed Straight when there are 5 consecutive cards in numerical order (9-8-7-6-5). This, however, doesn’t have to be of the same suit.

7. Three of a Kind

In Texas Hold’em poker hands, if 2 players have the same three of a kind (K-K-K-8-6), the fourth highest card will determine who the winner is. Likewise, if both have the same fourth card - player X (K-K-K-8-6) and player Y (K-K-K-8-4) - then the winner will be the one with the highest fifth card. (in this case, the winner is player X).

This poker hand consists of 2 different pairs of the same rank and a single card (Q-Q-7-7-3). Here, the best poker hand would be two-pairs of aces and kings.

Consists of 1 pair of the same rank and 3 unmatched cards (A-A-3-8-10).

10. High Card

High Card

The last in the list of poker hands, here, no cards are matching - no straight, no flush. The winner is the one with the highest-value card i.e. an ace high card would beat the king.
