PokerRaj signs Anita Hassanandani as brand ambassador
There are a lot of poker websites offering real money games in India, with well-known names helming the industry. Many new online gaming sites also crop up from time to time but not all of them survive the intense competition in this industry. Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty owned Viaan Industries is promoting one such online poker site called PokerRaj. PokerRaj is another nascent online poker platform making its way into the industry, where users can play and win using real money.
To keep up with the scene and attract more players, many online gaming websites have signed celebrities as their brand ambassadors in the past. Some names include Sunny Leone, MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, Amy Jackson, Vijender Singh and Viswanathan Anand among many others. PokerRaj has also recently signed up with the popular television actress Anita Hassanandani Reddy as their brand ambassador, giving her the ‘Queen of Poker’ title.
The actress made her Bollywood debut with the Subhash Ghai film Taal and is a well-known name in the television industry as well. She is also a huge poker enthusiast, playing both live and online. In December last year, Hassanandani finished 4th in Spartan's signature tournament 'The Millionaire' for INR 5.5 Lakhs.
She was also a part of the winning team at the inaugural Match India Poker League (Match IPL) series back in 2017, led by Harman Baweja. Commenting on the PokerRaj development, Hassanandani said, “I have always expressed my love for the sport of poker and now I am even more excited to announce my partnership with PokerRaj. Poker is evolving in India and I am happy to be a part of this growth story.”
Match IPL is a joint venture between Viaan Industries and International Federation of Match Poker (IFMP), where teams of different Indian cities participate and compete against each other to win big cash prizes. The winners also get the opportunity to represent India at the Match Poker Nations Cup.
The second season of Match IPL also saw Hassanandani participate and win the runners-up prize for her team, the UP Indians. The 3rd season of Match IPL was hosted last month and was successfully completed with Pune Kings being crowned as the new champions. Such ventures give a huge leap to the overall poker community in India and raise the level of the skill-based game in this country.
Raj Kundra also expressed much delight with this new addition, saying “Anita is a positive vibrant person and quite a trooper! She has been a lucky charm at all our poker events and plays the sport very well. We welcome her on as the Brand Ambassador of PokerRaj and we now have a queen of poker!”
