Prashant Jain Bhutoria emerged victorious last night at’s inaugural Paycheck tournament to score top prize of INR 6,16,689. And that was not all that Bhutoria won. Having participated in the Last Man Standing contest, his win at the Paycheck secured him a win in the LMS so he was additionally rewarded with tournament tickets to Adda52’s Sunday Suits, Roar, Hitman as well as two tickets into their Judwaa tournament. Paycheck saw 1,271 entries take the original INR 20 Lakhs guaranteed prizepool well past the 25L mark to eventually settle at a guarantee crushin INR 25,45,000. This huge sum would be distributed to top 129 places in the event.

Bhutoria defeated well known reg Anuj Kumar Kodam in heads-up battle and the latter took home INR 3,35,036 for his runner-up finish. Coming back to the champion, Bhutoria completed his schooling in Kolkata and has a BSC Hons. Degree in Hotel Management from London’s Oxford Brooke University. Currently, he works in the field of textile exports.

Speaking about the tournament Bhutoria said, “Paycheck was very deep and I like to play deep MTT’s. The entries were huge for an Indian site. It's very well structured and thought of. Thanks to the team.” Adding further, “The whole tournament was smooth until ‘cs52’ gave me a beat. He chased his gutshot draw all the way down to the river and got lucky against my set. This player was a complete fish. I lost 70% of my chips in that one hand. This made me play aggressive and thankfully it worked out. So I want to thank whoever he is, this player who "helped" me. At the final table, I was 8/8 I had 5BB with 3x 3x. Threes might as well have been Aces throughout. Twice I got double ups at the final table with 3x 3x and from there it was no looking back.”

Bhutoria had tunnel vision as far as his competition was concerned. He was solely focused on the end goal, “I was looking at the chips, not my competitors. I just wanted all the chips in the final table. I hardly knew anyone at the final table except Kodam. However I was being careful while playing with him.”

This win has given him more confidence for upcoming challenges, “It's good to ship something just before Poker Sports League. I feel good and confident. Delhi Panthers are ready to ROAR again!!!”

Congratulations to Prashant on his fantastic victory and stay tuned to GutshotMagazine for more such updates from the world of poker.
