Raghavendra Hada ships Head Hunter Event at IPC!
Apart from satellites to the Main Event and Highroller, the latest edition of the India Poker Championship (IPC) saw four tournaments being held at the Big Daddy Casino in Goa. The last of these was the INR 15k Head-Hunter tournament which was a bounty tournament with 10k going to the tournament prize pool and 5k to the bounty prize pool.
The tournament ran alongside Day 2 of the 35k Main Event which was won by Pune's Raj Talwar. The Head-Hunter guaranteed INR 17.5 Lakh in prize money but this guarantee was absolutely smashed, like every other event in the series. Here, we had 348 entries signing up to play, which contributed to a prize pool of INR 34.8 Lakh in addition to the bounties.
Quite a few known players were in contention including bracelet winner Aditya Sushant, Paawan Bansal, Adda52 Celebrity Pro Minissha Lamba and many other known faces. Players like Arsh Grover and Sajjan Barnwal were also having a good outing, each on fire at some points in time. However, it was Raghavendra Hada who went on to win the tournament.
The single-day event had 20-minute levels and the blind level increased quick, so it wasn't long before we had a winner in Hada, who beat Arsh Grover in heads-up. Hada walked home with INR 7,39,000 in prize money while also separately cashing out his several bands which represented his bounties from the tournament.
The night only got better for Hada as he was handed over his trophy by none other than the 'Big Daddy' of poker, Dan Bilzerian. As for Grover, he began the final table as chip leader but couldn't go on to complete the victory. Grover was slightly behind at the start of heads-up and ended up finishing second for INR 5,18,200, excluding prizes from bounties.
