Ram Kakkar bags Adda52 Maverick title
Adda52 is among the upper echelons of Indian online poker scenario. The platform hosts tournaments with massive prize pools all around the year. They also host a feature tournament every day of the week. Their Wednesday’s feature tournament, the Maverick has a new winner!
Last night’s Maverick began at the usual 8 pm, drawing 554 total entries, including 259 re-entries. Seems like the rule of unlimited re-entries till late registration was thoroughly used by majority of the players on Adda52.
The tournament ended at 3:14 am today morning. With the buy-in set at INR 1,100, the tournament guaranteed a prize pool of INR 6 Lakhs. Top 55 places were paid in the event, with the minimum cash prize of INR 3,532.
The winner to emerge after a long haul of over seven hours was the known poker player and Poker Sports League (PSL) Gujarat Falcons' member Ram Kakkar aka ‘mowgumotu’ who cashed out INR 1,11,335 as 1st place cash prize, 18.6% of the pool. He beat Aditya Kulkarni aka ‘Adit11’ in the heads-up to bag the title.
The runner-up, Kulkarni, also took home a sizeable amount of INR 81,608. Third to finish was ‘maddy712’, bagging INR 59,819 as his cash prize.
Kakkar has previous appearances online as well as in live tournaments. Just recently, he was a hair-length away from acquiring a WSOP gold ring, finishing 2nd at an World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Thunder Valley event for $9,596 (~INR 6.92 Lakhs). Coming so close to the title in an international event like this shows how skilled he is at this game, which is what poker is all about at the end of the day, skills and not luck.
This win will surely increase Kakkar’s bankroll and we hope he uses it to play in more upcoming tournaments online, and with Chrismas just around the corner, tournaments and series are all lined-up for him to indulge his love for poker.
