Ramlakhan Meena tops PPL Yearly Leaderboard
PokerBaazi is one of the few brands in Indian online poker scene to host insane tournaments and series all around the year. Their PokerBaazi Premier League has been a massive success, which started back in 2015. Just recently, the 2018 PPL Winter Edition went into the books. The series had a staggering guarantee of INR 5 Crores, the biggest PPL prize pool ever. It also featured the PPL leaderboard for the span of the series.
In addition to individual PPL edition leaderboards, there was also the PPL Yearly Leaderboard ranking players from all four PPL editions (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). This leaderboard had a shiny new Harley-Davidson motorcycle for the winner, including prizes worth INR 25 Lakhs up for grabs for top 25 rankers.
With the conclusion of the last PPL of the year, PPL Winter, the yearly leaderboard was simultaneously finished. The winner to emerge from the nearly one-year grind was the very well-known player Ramlakhan Meena aka ‘Hitler’. With 10,194 leaderboard points, Meena is now the proud owner of that beast of a motorcycle. He played a total of 142 tournaments in all PPL editions combined and shipped only one tournament, in PPL Autumn back in October. But the player has cashed out a total of 51 times, making his PPL earnings cross INR 18.5 Lakhs.
Second to finish in the PPL Yearly Leaderboard was Sameer Tavanandi aka ‘Killersam’ with 9,304 points and INR ~14.9 Lakhs in total winnings. He cashed out 44 times in all PPLs combined and has three titles to his name, playing in 144 total tournaments. Two of those three wins were in this edition itself, one on Day 2 and the other on the final day of PPL Winter. He also came 1st in the PPL Winter Leaderboard for INR 3 Lakhs, in addition to taking INR 4 Lakhs for ranking 2nd in the Yearly Leaderboard.
PPL Yearly Leaderboard top 25 was studded with plenty of known players. Neeraj Kumar aka ‘SelfClaimedPro’ finished 3rd with 8,852 points and took home INR 3 Lakhs in addition to ranking 4th in PPL Winter Leaderboard. Rubin Labroo aka ‘kornkid’ ranked 4th for INR 2.25 Lakhs.
