Rasdeep Singla ships Grinders Series Main Event
The Indian online poker scene is a burgeoning industry, with a few key movers and shakers influencing the trend. Among them is the established PokerBaazi. They have, over the years, acquired the trust that is so essential to run something which involves real money.
PokerBaazi has taken care of all kinds of players, hosting a variety of tournaments all around the year to suit all pocket sizes. One such event is the PokerBaazi Grinders Series. The series is well-known for introducing novice players to the adrenaline rushing poker scene by featuring low buy-in tournaments throughout the series.
This edition of the Grinders Series was inaugurated on 3rd December and saw its final day on 9th December. The Main Event of the series also declared its champion on final day. It had a buy-in of INR 1,100, well-suited for newbies, and had a good INR 5 Lakhs GTD.
The Main Event started at 8pm and attracted a total of 353 entries (296 re-entries). The guaranteed prize pool was surpassed, creating a new one of INR 6.49 Lakhs. Top 55 players were paid in the event, and the champion to get crowned at 2am the following morning was Rasdeep Singla aka ‘Rasdeep’, taking home INR 1,20,065 as 1st place cash prize, 18.5% of the pool. He beat ‘Killersam’ in the heads-up to ship the tournament.
Gutshot got in touch with him after his win, and he had this to say, “I’ve been playing online since a year and before this tournament I already busted two big Sunday events on The Spartan Poker but managed to not tilt. After taking a good walk outside, I convinced myself to not lose hope whether I win or lose.”
Talking about the gameplay leading up to his win, he elaborated, “Overall, I stuck to my strategy. I had been lucky in one hand with pocket Aces on big blind and my opponent was on small blind having pocket Kings. I was short-stacked but he shoved it in and I made an instant call and doubled up my chips.”
“On the Final Table I was last among the 7 players but I took a positive decision and it eventually went in my favour and bagged the 1st place with a converted deposit code. I had a pretty awesome experience playing in the tournament!”
The week-long series had a successful run and saw a lot of new players participate due to the low-stakes nature of the festival, as intended by PokerBaazi. The winners of the events will all look forward to playing in future tournaments with this welcome addition to their bankroll and we at Gutshot do hope that they win big too!
