Ratul Steves wins PokerBaazi's Value Bomb for 16.2L
After the massive Game Changer INR 2 Crore GTD which saw the prize pool nearly doubling on PokerBaazi, the company decided to host yet another multi-day tournament. This one was labelled as India's highest value tournament since it offered a massive prize pool at a buy-in of just INR 2,500.
Three starting flights were hosted between 5-8 June and Day 2 continued on 9th June 2019. When Day 2 began yesterday, a total of 324 players returned to battle it out for the top prizes in 1 Cr GTD Value Bomb. The tournament also pushed out the fact that poker is a game of skill as there were so many poker pros in contention, including Siddhanth Kapoor aka 'Bullzeye' who was the chip leader on Day 1A.
Among the other names that managed to cash in the tournament were Guruprasad 'fish_calling' Gupta (INR 34,000), Apaar 'floatfish' Gautam (INR 21,000), Sahil 'ImHighIshove' Mahboobani (INR 17,000), Anik 'EagleSong' Ajmera (INR 29,000), and others. As for the FT, that was relatively softer than the overall field.
Steves is a regular grinder across most of the top poker websites in India and he has quite a few big wins, including a Destiny victory on Spartan a few months back. Steves plays as 'luna' on PokerBaazi and here, he beat L Mevei Well in heads-up to take down one of his biggest wins ever, bagging the Value Bomb title and INR 16,20,000 in prize money. The runner-up also received a 7-figure pay-out of INR 11.5 Lakh.
