Satguru S Wins DPT Colossus 25K Bounty Event
It was a week for big wins on board the Deltin Royale in Goa as another edition of the Deltin Poker Tournament kicked off on 26th April 2018. This was the first ever DPT Colossus, a high-stakes tournament series that attracted some of the top poker pros from across the country.
The series began with the 50k Warm Up Event which was shipped by Vivek Rughani while the highlight event was the 200k Super High Roller, won by Sriharsha Doddapaneni. 29th April was the final day of the DPT Colossus and the one-day 25k Bounty Event was played on that day. There was a 100k Shootout Event scheduled, but that was cancelled.
The 25k Bounty Event attracted a field of just 26 entries, continuing the trend of low turnouts throughout this edition of the Deltin Poker Tournament. Rajeev Kanjani busted in 6th place, Vaibhav Shah busted in 5th place and Amit Ajwani busted in 4th place, as only the top three places were paid out in this event.
It was Satguru S who eventually topped these 26 entries and took home the top prize of INR 2,57,400. He was up against Adda52 pro Kunal Patni in heads up, and the latter held the lead when this stage began. Satguru won a few key hands and finally, his A-10 proved to be better than Patni's A-J in what became the final hand of the tournament, as the board opened 10-8-6-3-5.
This tournament marked the end of the first-ever DPT Colossus and given the low turnout, we may see lower buy-ins the next time this tournament takes place. New winners were crowned during this series, and these players will be some to watch out for over the next few editions of the DPT and other Indian poker tournaments.
