Sathish Ananth wins Head-Hunter on Spartan
Spartan Poker hosts a bounty tournament called Head-Hunter INR 10 Lakh GTD. Every Thursday night witnesses numerous pro poker players and their growing population. It was yesterday that Sathish Ananth triumphed the online tournament under the name ‘Jaqkten’.
Every day of the week Spartan organizes online tournaments with the biggest tournaments on Sundays. Last night’s competition had 34 re-entries and 81 re-buys, and Ananth topped the field of 249 entries for the top prize which included an additional amount from the bounty prize pool.
Ananth had earlier recorded his first win in a Destiny 7.0 tournament hosted by Spartan Poker itself, where he managed to top a field of 400 entries. He seems to have a knack of winning only the biggets tournaments on this platform.
Ananth played against Ashish Ahuja aka ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ heads-up, and the game turned out to be quite fascinating. Both players went head to head for a while before a straight over straight finish in the final hand. Ahuja had 1,092,199 chips while Ananth had 1,397,801 chips before the final hand where both players hit a straight on the river, but Ananth had a bigger straight, 8-Q.
The late-night tournament concluded at 2:10 am with various outstanding players like Arsh Grover (23rd), Sahil Mahboobani (21st), Rajat Sharma (19th), Sumit Sapra (18th), Guneet Kwatra (17th), Anirban Das (13TH), and Siddarth Singhvi (11th) who are regular online poker pros.
Ahuja was recorded to finish at 15th position out of 6,214 entries in $1,000 Double Stack NLHE which was his debut trip to the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Similar tournaments take place daily on Spartan Poker and often familiar names are seen to break their previous records.
