Saturday Roundup: Pulkit Goyal leads Day 1B of Millionaire
The weekend vibe was for real in the virtual felts with hundreds of hopefuls looking forward to winning big. With an explosive end to the last week that observed top pros of the country leading the field, Saturday night was no less than a big hit even though few tournaments observed overlays. In spite of that, what caught the public attention was the December edition of Millionaire Legend on Spartan Poker. So, let’s take a quick look at the weekend majors…
The most awaited Millionaire Legends INR 2 Crores is here again on Spartan Poker, kick-starting the new month. While the enthusiasm for December is already intensified, a new set of 368 players entered for the biggest buy-in ever of INR 27,000! Day 1B which wrapped up last night with the well-known online grinder Pulkit Goyal playing under the username ‘Championplayer’ racked up the largest stack of 3,51,830. On chip leader’s heels was Neel Joshi aka ‘Worm33’ bagging 2,87,623 chips.

However, Day 1A chip leader Sriharsha D still remains the overall chip leader with a commanding stack of 5,11,296. The registration will be open until Day 1C, today, 8 December and the remaining players will merge with Day 1A and 1B survivors to battle it out on Main Event Day 2.
One of the interesting formats on Spartan Poker is Saturday’s daily featured tournament Mega Freeze INR 5 Lakhs GTD. Just as the name suggests, the tournament is held in a freezeout format that is, once a player busts, they cannot re-enter. Hours of battling and struggling saw the last man standing, a leading figure in live and online felts Kanishka Samant emerged triumphant, outlasting the field to add yet another title in his poker cabinet.

The 2019 APPT Manila High Roller champion, Samant aka ‘Wildflower’ took the first-place prize money after the players settled for a 3-way deal. Down to the final 3 in level 32, Samant up against Akash Gupta aka ‘Akash0510’ and ‘ONmyMAC’ won the Saturday night’s title owing to his largest stack of 1.16 million.
The daily StackUp INR 2.5 Lakhs GTD on 9stacks pulled out a total of 152 entries (37 re-entries, 33 re-buys) last night. The tournament kicked off at 8 pm and the buy-in of INR 1,650 was fixed. Making the headline was an online regular Anuj Manocha aka ‘Desijuari’ grabbing the largest share from the prize pool after beating ‘Dhappa’ in heads-up for INR 65,000. Eventually, the anonymous runner-up also settled for INR 45,000.
