Not only did the BIG 50 make headlines for becoming the largest ever tournament in World Series of Poker (WSOP) history, but it has also been a brilliant one for Indian players. There were four starting flights followed by another four Day 2 flights, which saw a total of 6 Indians progressing to Day 3, two from each of 2A, 2B and 2C.

In the fourth Day 2 flight, four Indians were in action led by Sikander Rajwade. However, only one of them managed to progress and that was none other than Shravan Chhabria, who is easily among the most popular poker players in the Indian community. He took an above-average stack of 1,195,000 chips to Day 3.

The original field of 2,110 runners reduced to 553 survivors on Day 2D and Chhabria was the only Indian to progress, taking the total Indian field at Day 3 to 7 players. Chhabria will also have the largest stack among Indian players, while Nishant Sharma, Kartik Ved, Romit Advani and Vivek Rughani are close behind him, with stacks of 1+ million.

Since pay-outs of Event #3: BIG 50 - $500 NLHE began on Day 2 itself, Sikander Rajwade (1,128th for $821) and Indian-origin Nipun Java (1,173rd for $782) managed to get a pay-check on 2D, while Raghav Bansal busted before the money bubble. USA's Zackary Ackley leads the day with 2,925,000 chips. There are a few bracelet winners in the field including 4-time winner Jeff Madsen.

Day 2D top 10 chip counts:
