Siddarth Singhvi bags 2 in 2 days; wins Elite on Spartan
Here's a perfect example to bring back that debate on whether poker is a game of skill or one of luck. A couple of online poker tournaments with hundreds of entries on each night. If the game was one of luck, what are the odds of us ending up with one winner across both tournaments?
That's what happened last night as Pune-based Siddarth Singhvi went on to bag a second consecutive featured tournament victory on Spartan Poker, having won Head-Hunter just the night before. Playing as 'PeterPunter' on Spartan, he beat another 199 entries last night to win two titles in two days.
Every Friday night, Spartan hosts Elite INR 20 Lakh GTD and this one is only for the top players of the country, with a high buy-in of INR 11,000 per entry. The guarantee was missed by one entry last night and the top 20 players were paid out a min-cash of INR 26,800 with many known faces finishing in the money.
These included Eka Vedantham aka 'gettingthere' (19th), Faiz Alam aka 'DrStrange' (9th), and Kanishka Samant aka 'Wildflower' (3rd) with the top 6 players receiving 6-figure scores each. In heads-up, Singhvi was pitted against 'Brianstark' who also finished second to Sumit Sapra a couple of nights back in Destiny.
Here however, with major pay-jumps at stake, the two players decided to cut a deal in heads-up when they were identical in chips, taking away nearly similar prizes. Singhvi had a slightly bigger stack which made him the official winner along with the prize of INR 4,03,948. Brianstark took home a similar prize of INR 4,02,051 for finishing second.
