Singh, Varma, Yomso, Ray among Spartan 5For5 winners

Every month, Spartan Poker hosts an online poker tournament called 5For5, where, as the name suggests, the top 5 players in the tournament get paid out with a prize of INR 5 Lakh EACH. The unique aspect of this offering is that irrespective of your chip stack at the point of 5-way play, you will be paid out equally. The tournament just comes to a halt when someone gets knocked out in 6th place.

Yesterday was another edition of 5For5 and the player to hit the rail in 6th place was '$ubZero' who was rewarded with INR 2.53 Lakh for his deep run. He shoved all-in pre-flop with Tc 8c and received a call from Vivek Singh aka 'KasolHieghts' who had pocket Aces. Singh was ahead all along and he even rivered an Ace, giving him Three of a Kind and sending $ubZero out of contention.

From there, everyone was paid out equally as the tournament came to a halt and five new winners were declared. Apart from Vivek Singh, the winners of last night's 5For5 included 'brahmos999', Wilson Yomso aka 'RohiniSharma', Sandeep Varma aka 'effuno' and Jayjit Ray aka 'David Blaine'. All of them are Spartan Poker regulars and each one walked away INR 5,00,000 richer last night.

The tournament has a buy-in of INR 5,500 and yesterday, 738 entries registered to the event. The field was filled with pros as it usually is every month. Rubin Labroo aka 'kornkid' made a deep run, finishing 13th on the same night he shipped the Mega Suits on Adda52. Another top name in the mix was Nishant Sharma aka 'FunkyouFTW1' who finished 10th while he shipped BSS SuperStack on PokerBaazi.

Gutshot contacted Vivek Singh who won this tournament for the second time after doing so in January this year as well. He said, "I'm very happy getting my second title in this tournament on Spartan Poker with a very good friend of mine, Jayjit ‘David Blaine’ Ray. It’s a very good format by Spartan and I'm looking to bag more titles in the future!"

Wilson Yomso also had a few words on this experience, saying, "I had a fun final table in this tournament. At one stage, I was down to 70th from 2nd in the chip lead but I somehow managed to claw my way back and be among the winners." always brings to you the latest in tournament poker from across India, so stay tuned for all similar stories and updates.
