Spartan LBS Day 3: Abhijeet Kumar bags biggest cash prize
The 6-day Spartan Poker series suited for small-stakes grinders, Little Big Series (LBS), had begun this Monday, and will go on till 27th of this month. Day 1 and 2 were hosted and among the winners was regular Vinay Choudhry, who won LBS #7 a day before yesterday. Here’s a round-up of the happenings of Day 3:
LBS #9 – INR 24K GTD
The day began on a softer note with INR 66 buy-in. The attracted field came to 142 players who contested tooth and nail for a piece of the prize pool which was INR 25.8K. The top 31 places were paid and grabbing the first-place cash prize was ‘imlucknuts’ who beat Vinay Choudhry aka ‘Your Truly’ and took home INR 5,456 as the first-place cash prize. Choudhry earned INR 3,673 for finishing runner-up on Spartan.
LBS #10 – INR 36K GTD
The second of the four scheduled events in the Spartan series carried a buy-in of INR 99. A total of 164 players were attracted to the virtual felts. The top 23 places were paid and finishing on top of the heap was ‘Pocketaces781’, taking home INR 8,370 as the first-place cash prize. He/she beat ‘karannthakker’ in heads-up to secure the title and the latter settled for INR 5,670.
LBS #11 – INR 56K GTD
For a buy-in of INR 220, a total of 160 players signed up for the 3rd tournament of the series. The tournament was held in the Progressive KO format, which means players earn bounty based on the number of eliminations they deliver. The top 23 places were paid out in the event, and bagging the top prize was ‘one of A kind’ who took home INR 13,020 as first-place cash prize. He/she beat ‘Youraiseishove’ in heads-up to secure the title on Spartan.
LBS #12 – INR 1.2 Lakhs GTD
The last of the LBS tournaments, INR 1.2 Lakhs GTD, was hosted yesterday and attracted total 177 players from the community. The top 31 places were paid out of the prize pool, with the min-cash being INR 1,056. The player to ship the biggest title of the day in the series was Abhijeet Kumar aka ‘ikilldonks’ who took home INR 25,380 as first-place cash prize, beating ‘MAMA04’ in heads-up. The eventual winner took home the title with Fives trips over two pairs of his opponent. Kumar was also the LBS leaderboard winner back in February last year.
