In a race of online gaming in India, all the gaming websites are striving to expand their offerings and bring something new and exciting for their players. As we all know, cricket and Bollywood are like religions in this country. It is in the former area that online poker websites The Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi are dipping their toes into. Fantasy Sports have captured the imagination of cricket and football loving sports enthusiasts in the past few years with the emergence of these sites, the most well known of these being Dream11.
In the recent news, PokerBaazi.com (owned and operated by Baazi Networks Pvt Ltd.) announced its entry into fantasy sports gaming by way of picking up a majority stake in BalleBaazi.com. This new venture, launched by the Baazi group in January 2018, will be operated by SBN Gaming Network Pvt. Ltd. Speaking on the new site and PokerBaazi association, BalleBaazi Director Puneet Dua said, “BalleBaazi offers some unique features players will find hard to resist. With shorter batting and bowling formats it’s more fun to play. Our gaming structure surely stands out in the crowd, and we will continue to innovate and improvise. In the competitive gaming market, a trustworthy brand like PokerBaazi joining us is definitely going to boost our passion for making BalleBaazi the best fantasy cricket gaming site in India.” The emergence and ever growing base of domestic players has given cause to such brands to venture into this space. “We look forward to expanding and growing the online gaming space in the country. We have always loved to explore avenues that can make gaming experience most enjoyable for Indians in every sense. And, in a cricket crazy country like India, fantasy cricket is something you will find every Indian drooling over. This is the right time to tap the market potential, and it just gets better when you have a passionate team like BalleBaazi to make every inning count,” said PokerBaazi CEO Navkiran Singh.
TheSpartanPoker.com recently launched their fantasy platform under its 'TheSpartanLeague' brand. This site is looking to caters to cricket and football fantasy introducing various contests and promotions for its users. "We've known for sometime that we wanted to explore the fantasy sports space and after 3 years of being in the online poker business, the timing felt right. As we've done with The Spartan Poker in the past, we want to build a rock solid foundation for our newly launched fantasy league. The Spartan brand is synonymous with quality and value offerings. I am sure we will do the same in this newly launched vertical for our players," commented Amin Rozani, MD of The Spartan Poker.
Both sites are already live with various contests being offered to players and it is expected that these will get bigger and better in light of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket extravaganza kicking off in April.
