SSS Day 7: Bibek Karki, Puneet Dhawan among title winners
It's all finally over now! Seven days of intense poker action at Spartan Poker and we've reached the end of another successful edition of Spartan Super Series (SSS). Yesterday was SSS Day 7 and a total of 6 tournaments were scheduled to complete the 39 tournaments of the series. Quite a few winners were crowned, and several players walked away as richer and happier people, while Vivek Bajaj won the prestigious Main Event. Let's take a look at what happened on SSS Day 7...
SSS Event #34 INR 1.2 Lakh GTD
The first tournament of the final day of SSS on Spartan Poker had a buy-in of INR 330 and considering it was a Sunday, the participation was brilliant with 471 entries joining and the new prize pool of INR 1.41 Lakh was shared among the top 31 places, each receiving a minimum of INR 1,243. Taking down the tournament and bagging his/her second title of the current series was 'Yashi9696' who won the top prize of INR 29,884. In heads-up, the player beat 'sahdev_24' as a pair of Queens lost to a K-high flush. sahdev_24 walked away with the runner-up prize of INR 20,121.
SSS Event #35 Kick-Off INR 6 Lakh GTD
Spartan reserved the Kick-Off as the second tournament on each day, but this time it was double the buy-in and double the guarantee. Each paying INR 2,200, 229 entries registered to the event from which, only the top 23 players were paid, with the in-cash set at INR 6,960. The winner turned out to be 'ChipTricks'. The player took down the title for another 6-figure online score after he/she beat 'OMNAMO786' in heads-up, who had to settle for the runner-up prize of INR 94,500.
SSS Event #36 Half Price INR 1.5 Lakh GTD
INR 660 was the buy-in set for this tournament where 210 entries eventually participated. From them, only the top 20 players received a pay-check of a minimum of INR 2,010. Pratyush Singh aka 'PlayMyWay' rode his way to the top of the field and bagged a bankroll boost of INR 36,000 after he beat 'Aparichit6578' in heads-up. This player banked INR 24,450 for finishing second. Aparichit6578 shoved all-in pre-flop with Qs 5s in the final hand and it was an easy call for Singh, who was dealt pocket Aces. Singh won as his Aces stood and his opponent only managed a pair of Fives.
SSS Event #38 Sunday Super Stack INR 25 Lakh GTD
Played every Sunday on Spartan Poker, this is the biggest and most popular featured tournament on the platform, with a buy-in of INR 5,500. A field of 496 entries means the guarantee was missed by a whisker and the top 47 places took home pay-outs of a minimum of INR 14,250 each. Bibek Karki and 'BIBEK329' was the player who emerged victorious, taking down the title playing on the FTR platform and adding a massive sum of INR 4,87,250 to his poker bankroll. In heads-up, he beat 'Prithviraj1982' who took away INR 3,09,500 as the runner-up prize in a tournament where a pair of Sixes was all it took to win the final hand.
SSS Event #39 Big Daddy INR 6 Lakh GTD
Here's another very popular tournament that Spartan decided to reserve for last in this series of SSS. Paying INR 1,650 each to enter the tournament, 428 entries took part, and this drove the prize pool up to INR 6.4 Lakh. Eventually, the 39 top ranked players were paid out, with a min-cash of INR 4,429. Of these, it was Puneet Dhawan aka 'Gro$peLLier' who emerged as the champion of the last tournament of the June 2019 SSS series and won INR 1,28,721 in prize money. The runner-up was 'alpha07' who took home INR 85,578 for his efforts and deep run that ended in second place.
